Job Description
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is a globally recognized hospitality company with a rich history spanning more than 100 years. As a family-owned enterprise, Delaware North has established a strong legacy and reputation in delivering exceptional guest experiences across a wide range of industries including sports, gaming, hospitality, and entertainment. The company operates iconic venues such as national parks, sports arenas, hotels, and casinos, providing unique opportunities for both personal and professional growth to its employees. Delaware North emphasizes a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and career advancement, making it a trusted employer for individuals seeking long-term career development within the hospitality sector.
One of Delaware North’s premier properties is Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, located in Fish Camp, California, just outside the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. This 4-diamond resort is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, featuring abundant trees and majestic granite peaks. Tenaya Lodge offers guests a wide range of outdoor experiences and luxurious accommodations, including the nearby Waybound collection of modern cabins and cottages. These private, retreat-style lodging options afford guests a peaceful and intimate connection to nature while still providing access to the upscale amenities available at the main resort.
The Executive Housekeeper role at Tenaya Lodge is a pivotal leadership position within the housekeeping department responsible for maintaining the resort’s pristine condition. This is a full-time position with an anticipated base salary ranging from $70,304 to $88,400 per year, complemented by an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or an uncapped sales incentive plan tied to role-based achievements. Delaware North also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and generous discounts, enhancing the overall compensation package.
In this role, the Executive Housekeeper leads and manages the housekeeping team to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities meet or exceed the company’s high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and readiness. This leadership position entails hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and mentoring team members to foster an efficient and motivated work environment. The Executive Housekeeper is also responsible for maintaining inventory levels, ordering and distributing cleaning supplies and equipment, and managing expenses and payroll within budgetary constraints. Conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions to uphold quality standards is a critical duty of this role. Additionally, the Executive Housekeeper is required to operate company vehicles to efficiently oversee property-wide operations.
This fast-paced and dynamic position is well-suited to an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a team-oriented atmosphere and who values opportunities for career advancement. As part of the Delaware North family, team members are supported with relocation assistance and temporary housing to facilitate a smooth transition. The job demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and visual acuity to ensure cleanliness standards. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or a related field, possess working knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals, and hold a valid driver’s license. No degree is required for consideration.
Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite and Delaware North offer a work environment where employees not only contribute to creating memorable guest experiences but also grow their careers with a global company that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about hospitality and leadership to join a reputable brand in a stunning natural setting and to help shape the future of hospitality through their dedication and expertise.
