Job Description
Mahler Private Staffing is a premier domestic staffing agency renowned for connecting skilled professionals with America’s leading families. With a personalized and confidential approach, the agency strives to create lasting and long-term placements by thoroughly understanding both the candidates and the clients. Mahler Private Staffing specializes in providing experienced private domestic staffing professionals, including executive housekeepers, household managers, personal assistants, and more, ensuring that distinguished families enjoy seamless and polished household operations.
This particular opportunity is for an Executive Housekeeper position in a private residence located in the prestigious Upper East Side of New York City. The family is warm, kind, and values a collaborative and relaxed household culture while maintaining exceptionally high standards of excellence. The principals have pre-teen children and a small hypoallergenic dog, and are seeking a best-in-class, full-charge Executive Housekeeper who can take comprehensive responsibility for the operation and upkeep of their home.
The Executive Housekeeper role entails a blend of daily housekeeping, deep cleaning, organization, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will lead by example, working alongside an existing household team to elevate daily standards and systems while mentoring the staff with a positive and professional demeanor. This is a full-time position with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some flexibility for later starts on certain days and additional hours as required, especially around dinner events.
Salary compensation ranges from $130,000 to $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and includes fully paid healthcare for the employee and dependents, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, life insurance, and paid time off. This lucrative package reflects the significant level of responsibility and expertise expected from the successful candidate.
The Executive Housekeeper’s responsibilities encompass full-charge accountability for daily care and deep cleaning of the residence, meticulous management of laundry including delicate and specialty fabrics, maintaining impeccable organization throughout wardrobes, closets, drawers, kitchen storage, and household systems. Providing expert care for fine furnishings, decorative items, and specialty surfaces is essential. Additionally, managing household inventories and ensuring that supplies, toiletries, pantry items, and cleaning products are continually stocked forms an integral part of the role.
The candidate will also handle household shopping and errands as needed and assist with light household support tasks to facilitate smooth operations. A critical aspect of the role is working hands-on with the existing household team, effectively mentoring and modeling best practices to maintain a calm, efficient, and exceptionally high-standard environment. The Executive Housekeeper is expected to be discreet, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability suited to the family’s somewhat casual yet high-expectation culture.
Mahler Private Staffing emphasizes that there are no fees associated with the application process and that only selected candidates will be contacted for further consideration. This role represents a unique chance for an experienced, dedicated professional to join an esteemed family in an iconic New York City neighborhood, providing impeccable household management and leadership.
