Job Requirements

  • Experience in similar capacities such as lodging, housing, housekeeping, hospitals, care facilities, or supervision of staff
  • Ability to do basic math
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must pass appropriate security clearance as per company policy
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds and lift or carry 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours and perform physical activities such as bending, stretching, reaching, crawling, and kneeling
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, and read English
  • Professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness required at all times
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Must comply with all standards and be service centric
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to work weekends and some holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in lodging, housing, housekeeping, hospitals, care facilities, or supervision of staff
  • Proven ability to perform basic math
  • Knowledge of supervising and managing staff techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of housekeeping materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to follow company procedures and policies
  • Basic computer skills to pull reports and manage inventories
  • Strong management skills including interviewing, training, coaching, motivating, counseling, disciplining, and terminating employment
  • Effective communication skills with guests and co-workers
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and department heads

Job Duties

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping team through daily and monthly meetings
  • Staff management and development including documentation, performance reviews, and training oversight
  • Hiring responsibilities including interviewing and assisting in hiring decisions for housekeeping and laundry departments
  • Inspect all areas of the hotel including guest rooms, public spaces, back of the house, and grounds to ensure sanitation and safety standards
  • Maintain and manage supplies inventory including guest loaned items, ordering, receiving, and invoice processing
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of equipment such as vacuums, laundry machines, and carts
  • Maintain safety and security protocols including key control
  • Provide continuous training to staff using available tools and resources
  • Manage labor by scheduling and working within designated labor models
  • Protect guest privacy and coordinate timely maintenance requests with the Maintenance Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing
