The Executive Housekeeper (age 18+) position at Northgate Resorts is a seasonal, full-time leadership role reporting to the Office Manager. This vital role involves overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department within a camp-resort setting, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The Executive Housekeeper leads a dynamic team of housekeepers and inspectors, managing staff schedules, payroll, and training programs to maintain exceptional service quality. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Duties include managing cabin turnovers, supervising cleanliness inspections, coordinating maintenance communications, and maintaining inventories of supplies and chemicals safely. The Executive Housekeeper also plays a critical role in guest service by responding to inquiries using established guidelines, fostering positive team morale, and supporting overall resort operations. Job Duties

  • Schedules staff, monitors payroll, and maintains compliance with a payroll budget
  • participates in the recruitment process and selection of talent for the housekeeping department
  • ensures the completion and proper communication/escalation of maintenance work orders and other concerns
  • participates in the development and execution of training programs for new hires and ongoing staff training
  • creates and schedules daily assignments and projects to optimize cabin cleanliness and performance
  • conducts daily stand up meetings to prioritize tasks and facilitate staff feedback
  • assists with maintaining inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment
  • maintains SDS and inventory for all chemicals
  • ensures timely turnover of vacant and clean cabins
  • verifies stayovers, reports early checkouts, and communicates issues with the front desk
  • maintains accurate cabin cleanliness statuses and updates the reservation system
  • provides coaching, encouragement, and recognition to staff
  • inspects guest rooms for cleanliness, damage, supply levels, maintenance issues, and temperature control
  • maintains cleanliness and organization of linen storage rooms, trash rooms, and housekeeping carts
  • leads and mentors housekeeping staff daily
  • assists with cleaning cabins
  • manages the laundry process and maintains inventory cleanliness
  • assists in cabin and facility inspections
  • completes required reports timely
  • schedules bi-annual deep cleans
  • collaborates with park and home office departments
  • responds to guest inquiries using service recovery guidelines
  • learns and utilizes the reservation system for daily planning
  • participates in other projects and activities as assigned
