The role of the Executive Housekeeper at Hyatt Regency Cleveland is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire housekeeping operation and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness across all hotel areas. This role reports directly to the hotel Director of Operations and demands strong organizational skills and a comprehensive understanding of housekeeping management. The Executive Housekeeper is charged with short- and long-term planning, budgeting, labor cost management, and maintaining safety and security policies, including adherence to OSHA and ADA regulations. A critical aspect of this role is to establish an atmosphere that promotes customer and associate satisfaction through effective staff training, clear communication, and precise staff scheduling. The Executive Housekeeper must be adept at collaborating closely with other hotel departments and vendors to ensure seamless operations. Experience with purchasing linens, handling housekeeping supplies, and familiarity with the latest housekeeping and laundry technologies is essential.

Additionally, the Executive Housekeeper is expected to mentor and supervise a diverse, multilingual workforce, fostering a positive, service-oriented culture that reflects Hyatt’s service standards. They will be involved in inspecting rooms regularly, managing shortfalls through coaching and counseling, and delivering superior service especially to VIP guests and other special clientele. The position is geared towards a proactive leader with a high level of energy and an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of motivating employees and effectively communicating across all levels of the hotel. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years in hotel rooms management including housekeeping
  • Experience working in a multicultural and multilingual environment
  • Knowledge of housekeeping operations and technology
  • Ability to plan and manage budgets
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Must comply with OSHA and ADA regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Four or more years of progressive hotel Rooms Management experience, preferably with Hyatt
  • Previous hotel pre-opening experience is preferred
  • Service oriented style with professional presentation skills
  • Degree in hotel or hospitality management is an asset

  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Responsible for short and long term planning and management of housekeeping operations
  • Develop and recommend budget, labor cost plans and objectives and manage within approved plans
  • Maintain solid understanding of housekeeping and laundry supplies and pars
  • Teach employees importance of guest greeting and courteous service
  • Ensure consistent maintenance of inspection programs
  • Assure all safety and security policies and procedures are followed
  • Collaborate closely with other departments
  • Conduct daily room inspections
  • Experience in purchasing linens and housekeeping supplies
  • Stay current on latest housekeeping and laundry technologies
  • Work closely with vendors to assure proper pricing, delivery, and maintenance
  • Supervise, teach, and mentor multilingual and multicultural staff
  • Ensure OSHA and ADA policies adherence
  • Manage turndown service and special needs for VIP guests
  • Maintain proper staffing levels to meet customer service goals
  • Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards
