As the leader of the housekeeping team, the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for directing and monitoring the activities of housekeeping, houseman, and laundry staff members. This includes conducting daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure quality and adherence to brand standards, scheduling staff shifts and obtaining General Manager approval on weekly schedules, and balancing nightly room status reports to maintain operational accuracy. The role also encompasses procurement duties, requiring the Executive Housekeeper to order supplies while respecting budget constraints established by the General Manager. Furthermore, this position includes personnel responsibilities such as interviewing candidates, resolving employee grievances, administering disciplinary actions, and conducting performance evaluations. Leadership is demonstrated through regular daily meetings with housekeeping staff and routine walkthroughs with the General Manager and Property Engineer to ensure property standards and operations are seamlessly maintained. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism, including adherence to uniform standards and grooming, are vital for success in this role. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Several years of experience in housekeeping or hotel management
- Ability to lead and manage a diverse team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of hotel operations and cleanliness standards
- Ability to handle employee relations and disciplinary actions
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag
- Monitor and direct all Housekeeping, Houseman and Laundry personnel
- Inspect all rooms daily
- Make schedules for housekeeping, houseman, and laundry with General Manager approval
- Balance and clear room status nightly comparing reports and resolve discrepancies
- Train all Housekeeping personnel to perform duties to standards
- Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous at all times
- Order supplies while keeping within budget
- Conduct monthly inventories of department and guest supplies
- Conduct interviews, handle employee complaints and grievances, discipline and appraise employees
- Conduct daily morning meetings with staff
- Conduct daily walk through with General Manager and Property Engineer
