Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in all aspects of housekeeping in a large, multi-use facility
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff including hiring recommendations, terminations, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, training and development
  • Schedule staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy and assign daily boards to housekeeping team members
  • Manage contract labor relationships and needs, including training for contract labor positions
  • Evaluate housekeeping equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements
  • Assist General Manager in the development and monitoring of the department's annual budget
  • Maintain room quality and cleanliness throughout hotel areas including guest rooms, storage, laundry, and public spaces
  • Compile and report accurate status of guest rooms to front office
  • Oversee all housekeeping duties ensuring productivity and labor cost goals are met
  • Establish and maintain cost control systems for staffing, linen inventories, and cleaning supplies
  • Conduct inventories of linen, supplies, and equipment
  • order and receive supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels
  • Ensure quality services meet guest needs and enhance guest relations
  • Prepare for audits, evaluate results, and collaborate with management for improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
