Job Description

Destination Tomorrow (DT) is a national grassroots LGBTQ+ organization founded in the Bronx with a powerful mission centered around community empowerment and support. The organization was established on the principle that no individual should have to leave their neighborhood to access essential services. Committed to uplifting LGBTQ+ communities, especially Black and Brown trans and gender-expansive individuals, DT offers comprehensive programs that emphasize economic, social, and mental empowerment. These programs include educational initiatives, financial assistance, health services, and housing solutions designed to help clients move from crisis situations towards growth, learning, and flourishing. The organization currently operates several sites across the Bronx, New York City, Atlanta, Georgia, and Washington, D.C., reflecting its commitment to expanding services and impact nationwide.

The Executive Director of Operations (ED Ops) at Destination Tomorrow plays a critical role as the leader responsible for the organization’s infrastructure and operational excellence. The ED Ops position is designed to translate the strategic vision of the executive leadership team into effective operational systems that support sustainable growth and high performance. This role is instrumental in building internal capacity, accountability, and governance frameworks to ensure that the organization's programs and services maintain the highest standards while scaling efficiently and responsively.

Reporting directly to the CEO and in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and other executive leaders, the ED Ops focuses on developing an enterprise-wide operational framework that replicates DT's successful Community Model across multiple office locations and client sites. The role requires a combination of strategic planning acumen and hands-on operational management skills to create standardized processes and repeatable workflows that replace ad hoc execution. The ED Ops ensures the organization’s operational cadence aligns with strategic initiatives, revenue development, and organizational milestones.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing a governance structure that integrates executive dashboards, performance metrics, risk management protocols, and compliance standards. The role demands a comprehensive approach to enterprise risk management, legal oversight, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The ED Ops also leads the management of physical infrastructure, facilities, and corporate administrative operations for offices in New York City and Atlanta, while coordinating closely with Social Services leadership for housing program sites.

In the realm of technology, data, and analytics, the ED Ops oversees IT strategy, system scalability, cybersecurity, CRM optimization, and the development of agency-wide data analytics and reporting systems. The role ensures consistency in data integrity and reporting frameworks essential for executive decision-making, risk evaluation, financial forecasting, and program outcome measurement.

Workforce infrastructure is another crucial focus area for the ED Ops. The role integrates workforce planning into organizational scaling, manages staffing models aligned with long-range strategic goals, and collaborates with Human Resources to uphold policies and practices that mitigate enterprise risk. Financial stewardship is a continuing responsibility, requiring close coordination with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to monitor and forecast operational expenditures, identify efficiency initiatives, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

This position offers candidates the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization at a pivotal point of growth, where their leadership will directly support community-rooted, affirming services for underserved LGBTQ+ populations. The role affords a competitive salary ranging from $135,000 to $155,000, commensurate with experience, along with robust benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick time, and paid time off. Working at Destination Tomorrow means aligning professional expertise with core values to create meaningful, lasting change within the communities served.
