The Executive Director of Auxiliary Services (EDAS) at LSUS plays a crucial leadership role, overseeing the day-to-day operations of various auxiliary services that support the campus community. This full-time, salaried, exempt position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. The role encompasses managing a broad portfolio of services including campus dining and food services, catering, coffee shop operations, vending machines, the bookstore, mailroom logistics, Pilot Card administration, and student residential housing management. The EDAS is responsible for strategic planning, policy development, operational oversight, customer service excellence, employee management, and training programs to ensure that all auxiliary services operate efficiently and effectively.
As a senior administrator, the EDAS directs efforts to improve the suitability, sustainability, and quality of auxiliary services while ensuring fiscal integrity and adherence to regulatory compliance standards. The position requires active collaboration with finance and administration leadership and engagement with multiple stakeholders across campus to enhance service delivery and meet campus goals. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary to fulfill job duties, emphasizing flexibility and responsiveness. The role is dynamic and may involve managing special projects that contribute to the university’s strategic initiatives. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Five years of professional level experience related to the position
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification (can be obtained within 6 months)
- Effective professional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Hard-working, creative, and team-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Five years of professional level experience related to the position demonstrating ability to succeed
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification (can be obtained within 6 months)
- Effective professional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Hard-working, creative, team-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (preferred)
- Catering or food service experience with medium to large group sizes (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and effectively with multiple stakeholders (preferred)
Job Duties
- Collaborate with leaders across campus to improve partnerships and benefit faculty, staff, and students
- Lead and facilitate multiple projects, supporting team members and stakeholders to achieve campus plans and meet project goals and timelines
- Supervise and mentor auxiliary services managers and staff to ensure operational engagement and professional growth
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards including FDA codes, health department inspections, nutritional standards, and sanitation regulations while maintaining quality and safety
- Prepare and oversee all auxiliary services budgets ensuring effective resource management and staffing levels
- Generate regular reports summarizing financial and operational performance of assigned areas
- Resolve customer, guest, and vendor concerns maintaining positive client relationships
- Perform other duties including managing special projects as assigned
