Its offerings are an authentic homage to the flavors and culture of Latin America, with influences primarily from Cuba, Peru, and other Latin American countries, reflecting the neighborhood dining spots found in Tampa and Miami. The atmosphere at Calle Sol is casual yet lively, with music and food that create the sensation of having been on a sunny beach all day. The restaurant’s menu features pressed sandwiches, ceviches, and a variety of other dishes crafted by chefs with deep experience and training in Latin American culinary arts, promising a unique and flavorful experience for every guest.

We are currently seeking a visionary Executive Chef passionate about Latin American and Chino-Latino culinary traditions to lead the culinary operations at Calle Sol Latin Cafe & Cevicheria. This role is not just about cooking; it's the creative and operational heart of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative menus and seasonal updates that celebrate the bold flavors of Latin America. You will lead and inspire a dynamic kitchen team, nurturing their talents while fostering an environment of collaboration, creativity, respect, and excellence. Your expertise will extend beyond the kitchen as you manage budgets, food costs, and vendor relationships to ensure operational profitability. Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization compliant with local regulations is paramount. Collaboration with ownership and management teams to align culinary strategies with the brand's growth objectives will also be a key part of your contribution. Training and mentoring sous chefs and kitchen leaders to ensure consistency and superior culinary delivery will form a crucial aspect of your leadership. Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an executive chef in a high-volume full-service restaurant environment
  • Deep knowledge and appreciation of Latin American cuisine including Peruvian Cuban and wok-based cooking techniques
  • Proven ability to lead inspire and manage a diverse kitchen team
  • Experience managing budgets food costs and vendor relationships
  • Creative flair with a passion for innovation menu development and presentation
  • Excellent organizational time management and communication skills
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Mecklenburg County health and safety regulations
