The role of Executive Chef at Wuksachi Lodge is a full-time, year-round leadership position responsible for overseeing culinary operations within this unique setting. The Executive Chef will lead a dedicated team of culinary professionals to create memorable dining experiences that showcase culinary excellence while embracing the natural surroundings and the lodge’s distinctive character. This role calls for a skilled culinary leader who can inspire and mobilize kitchen and service teams, maintaining the highest standards of quality, creativity, and operational efficiency.
The Executive Chef will develop and maintain recipes, establish portion specifications, and manage standard preparation procedures to ensure consistent quality across all menu offerings. This role requires working closely with purchasing and budget management functions to control food costs and ensure profitability without compromising on guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will also prepare operational reports, analyzing trends and making strategic recommendations to enhance culinary operations and overall business success.
Compliance with health department regulations and company policies is critical in this role, ensuring all practices meet or exceed standards for food safety and sanitation. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for workforce management, including hiring, training, and counseling kitchen and service staff to build a motivated, skilled, and cohesive team. The ability to manage labor and inventory costs effectively while utilizing technology for scheduling, invoicing, and sales tracking is essential.

- five years' culinary experience in established restaurants and catering companies
- certificate or degree in culinary arts preferred
- ServSafe and Food Safety Handler certifications required
- strong financial and computer skills

- knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and point-of-sale (POS) systems
