The Executive Chef role at The Residence at Valley Farm is a full-time position offering a competitive wage band of $33.00 to $35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position is crucial in ensuring the culinary department operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering the highest quality dining experiences to residents. The Executive Chef oversees all kitchen operations, including menu planning, staff management, and compliance with health and safety standards. Acting as both a leader and hands-on culinary expert, the Executive Chef plays a vital role in promoting resident satisfaction and community engagement.

In this role, the Executive Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the kitchen, including organizing staffing and directing food preparation efforts to meet the highest standards. They will work closely with the Culinary Services Director to develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance food quality and safety. As a department head, the Executive Chef represents LCB Senior Living's mission and values, engaging with residents, families, and the broader community to foster positive relationships and support community growth.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, capable of building and maintaining a motivated culinary team committed to excellence. Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree and/or Certified Dietary Manager preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years food service management experience
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Able to be accessible by telephone 24 hours a day
  • Full knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety codes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in food handling and kitchen equipment operation

Job Duties

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members and professionals to help grow community occupancy
  • Lead the development and implementation of all menus and recipes
  • Develop and implement successful strategies regarding labor, occupancy, mix, expenses and quality of food
  • Maintain residents Bill of Rights
  • Interview, hire, orient, train, supervise and evaluate subordinate staff
  • Constantly assess resident needs in relation to staff needs as a basis for determining priorities in designing ongoing evaluation programs
