Job Description
Flik Hospitality Group is a prominent player in the foodservice and hospitality industry, known for delivering exceptional culinary experiences across diverse venues, including corporate dining, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and special events. As part of the larger Compass Group USA, Flik benefits from a rich legacy of excellence, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to quality in food and service. The organization prides itself on creating dynamic work environments where associates are encouraged to grow professionally while contributing to the company’s mission of elevating the hospitality standards. With a focus on people-first culture, Flik emphasizes ongoing training, hands-on experience, and the empowerment of its employees to foster passion and engagement within their teams.
Flik’s talent strategy revolves around hiring individuals who share a passion for food and hospitality and nurturing their skills through continuous education about the latest culinary trends and operational best practices. This supportive environment results in a workplace where associates feel valued, motivated, and excited about their roles. The company operates mainly Monday through Friday with start times at either 5am or 7am, but weekend availability is necessary to meet business demands, especially during seasonal peaks when weekend work can extend for up to four months of the year.
The Executive Chef position at Flik Hospitality Group offers an incredible opportunity for an entrepreneurial culinary professional who thrives in high-volume, complex foodservice settings. The role entails overall responsibility for kitchen operations, including planning menus, supervising food preparation, ensuring compliance with health and sanitation standards, and leading kitchen staff to perform at their highest levels. The Executive Chef is tasked with ensuring the safe, sanitary, and efficient execution of food service while aligning with corporate programs and guidelines. This position requires a motivated individual who can balance operational management with creative culinary expertise to consistently deliver quality meals that meet company standards.
Specific job duties include planning regular and modified menus according to established guidelines, adhering meticulously to standardized recipes and portion control, and maintaining detailed production and waste logs. The Executive Chef trains kitchen staff in safe food handling, equipment operation, and sanitation procedures to uphold rigorous safety and quality controls. Additionally, the role involves inventory management of food and non-food supplies, ensuring cost controls while maintaining necessary stock levels. The Chef makes strategic decisions regarding the use of leftover food products in adherence to company policies and participates actively in local health department and third-party audits to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Flik Hospitality Group looks for candidates with a strong foundation in culinary arts, with at least five years of progressive experience in executive chef or kitchen management roles. Preferred candidates also bring extensive catering experience, familiarity with institutional and batch cooking, and a deep understanding of foodservice trends that impact quality, sanitation, and food cost controls. Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and related software, is essential, as is a commitment to participating in client satisfaction programs. ServSafe certification is highly desirable, reinforcing the company’s commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance.
As part of the Compass Group USA, Flik offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, well-being, and financial security of its associates. This includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and retirement plans. Associates are also eligible for paid time off, holiday time off, and various wellness programs. Additional benefits such as employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits, identity theft protection, and personal and parental leave further enhance the employee experience. Flik Hospitality Group fosters an inclusive, equitable work environment where diversity is celebrated and all qualified candidates have equal opportunity to succeed.
