The Executive Chef role at Tabor Hill Winery and Restaurant is a dynamic full-time position that requires a seasoned professional to lead the kitchen operations. With a salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 per year and working hours of 40 to 45 hours per week including weekends, this is a key leadership position within the restaurant's back-of-house team. The Executive Chef is not only responsible for culinary excellence but also for managing kitchen staff, ensuring the smooth flow of service, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

This position requires a leader who is passionate about the culinary arts and capable of thriving in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Executive Chef will serve as a role model for exceptional customer care and will be actively involved in day-to-day kitchen operations, including direct oversight of staff performance and development. Responsibilities extend to administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, ordering supplies, and collaborating closely with the Culinary Director on menu planning and execution of new specials. Additionally, the Executive Chef supports front-of-house management to create a cohesive dining experience for guests.

Successful candidates will bring extensive restaurant and management experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and an ability to foster a positive and productive work culture. This role demands flexibility regarding work hours, physical stamina to handle the demands of kitchen work, and a proactive approach to team building and training. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous restaurant and management experience required

Job Qualifications

  • Positive team player with excellent communication skills
  • Tech savvy
  • Experience with POS software
  • A natural born leader with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend and night shifts
  • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs
  • Credentials in health and safety training
  • Previous kitchen management experience required

Job Duties

  • Serve as a positive example for providing exceptional customer care
  • Act as a constant presence in the kitchen to ensure service is running smoothly and enforcing all rules and regulations amongst staff
  • Provide management for all back of the house staff
  • Responsible for holding back of the house staff accountable for their job responsibilities
  • Work hand-in-hand with all back of the house staff to provide on-the-job training in the areas of product knowledge, customer service, and food service procedures
  • Responsible for learning new weekly food specials and teaching presentation and process to kitchen staff
  • Responsible for overseeing the completion of the Back of the House schedule
