Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary arts schooling or related educational background
  • Minimum 3 years experience in kitchen management
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varied conditions
  • Capability to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs regularly
  • Ability to navigate stairs safely
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to multitask and manage stress in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Compliance with attendance and punctuality rules
  • Commitment to maintaining sanitation and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school education plus schooling in culinary arts or related major
  • Minimum 3 years of kitchen management experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to handle high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environments
  • Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen service procedures
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and POS terminals
  • Commitment to excellence, integrity, and respect in the workplace
  • Ability to conduct effective training and performance reviews
  • Capability to manage inventory, ordering, and budgeting
  • Positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new administrative programs

Job Duties

  • Delegate and manage tasks to kitchen staff, communicating and providing clear direction to staff
  • Train kitchen associates to maximize productivity and minimize waste
  • Inspect daily use records to ensure accurate estimates and employee compliance
  • Pull all food needed for daily production from the walk-in and utilize all leftovers
  • Operate as the main expeditor when necessary, ensuring food accuracy and presentation
  • Perform Back of House performance reviews in a timely manner
  • Provide constructive feedback consistently and positively
  • Maintain daily communication through logbook system
  • Schedule Back of House staff and adjust shifts to meet labor targets
  • Conduct and supervise tastings to ensure food quality and consistency
  • Order food and smallware based on inventory and budget needs
  • Monitor ticket times and resolve service delays
  • Oversee sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Comply with attendance policies and maintain regular availability
  • Adapt and improvise in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
