The company's scale and dedication are evident through its service of over 600 million meals annually and its status as an award-winning employer, recognized multiple times by Modern Healthcare and Training Magazine for excellence in workplace culture and training programs.
The Executive Chef role at Morrison Healthcare presents an exciting career opportunity for an energetic and entrepreneurial culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality meals that align with corporate programs and nutritional guidelines. This role demands a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation, staff training, inventory management, and compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. The Executive Chef will directly influence the health and recovery of patients by delivering nutritious, appealing, and safe meals, while also managing kitchen staff and fostering a productive and supportive working environment.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $95,000 annually, reflecting the importance and seniority of the role within Morrison Healthcare’s organizational structure, classified at pay grade 14. The company supports a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, encouraging participation in client satisfaction initiatives, departmental meetings, and training programs.
In this pivotal role, the Executive Chef will plan and develop regular and modified menus based on established guidelines, ensuring portion control and presentation consistency according to standardized recipes. Responsibilities include managing daily production worksheets, maintaining a waste log to optimize food utilization, and tasting completed meals to maintain quality assurance. The Executive Chef is also tasked with training kitchen staff in safe food handling and equipment operation, creating and enforcing cleaning and maintenance schedules, and managing inventory to meet demand without excess waste.
Ideal candidates will possess strong culinary and kitchen management experience, including catering expertise and proficiency in high-volume, complex foodservice operations. The position requires hands-on chef skills and knowledge of current food and catering trends, emphasizing quality, production efficiency, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation. Computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office applications and Internet tools, is essential, along with willingness to participate in client satisfaction activities and maintain ServSafe certification.
Working at Morrison Healthcare means joining a compassionate and innovative team dedicated to transforming healthcare food services. Associates receive comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, retirement plans, flexible time off options, paid parental leave, and more. Morrison Healthcare is committed to equal opportunity employment and maintaining a drug-free workplace, valuing diversity and inclusion while providing reasonable accommodations where needed. This role offers a fulfilling career for culinary professionals eager to make a meaningful impact through their expertise and leadership in the healthcare environment.
