Job Description
Delaware North is a renowned global hospitality company with a rich history spanning over 100 years. As a family-owned organization, Delaware North has grown to operate in diverse sectors such as sports arenas, national parks, casinos, hotels, restaurants, and retail. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional experiences to guests while fostering a supportive work environment for its employees. Their commitment to investing in team members’ personal and professional growth makes them a top choice for ambitious hospitality professionals seeking career advancement and meaningful opportunities.
One of Delaware North's notable ventures is Patina 250, a distinguished restaurant located in The Westin Buffalo, New York. Patina 250 embodies the authentic tastes of Western New York with fresh, thoughtful, flavor-infused variations that appeal to diverse palates. The restaurant features a refined and welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy drinks, shared plates, or a full dining experience. Local artists contribute to the modern ambiance through paintings, elaborate light fixtures, and sculptural wall installations, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Delaware North’s Patina Group is currently seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the kitchen and service teams at Patina 250. This position offers an exciting opportunity for culinary leaders who want to inspire teams, innovate recipe development, and contribute to the restaurant's success while advancing their careers within a global hospitality company.
The Executive Chef role at Patina 250 is a full-time position with a competitive base salary range of $68,300 to $92,200 per year. Beyond the base salary, the company offers an annual bonus plan that rewards both company-wide and individual performance, alongside a potentially uncapped sales incentive plan based on role. This compensation package reflects Delaware North’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence. Comprehensive benefits are also provided, underscoring the company’s focus on employee wellbeing and career development.
As Executive Chef, you will hold a pivotal leadership role overseeing all back-of-house operations. Your responsibilities will include staff training and development, managing food production and service execution, developing and maintaining recipes and menu specifications, and ensuring compliance with company policies and health regulations. You will also handle budgetary planning, purchasing decisions, and operational reporting that informs strategic decisions to sustain operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 to 3 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, upscale setting, with a minimum of five years in culinary roles within established restaurants or catering companies. While a formal certificate or degree in Culinary Arts is preferred, it is not mandatory. Likewise, certifications such as ServSafe and Food Safety Handler are advantageous but not required. Strong financial acumen, computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems, and an ability to work flexible schedules are essential. Above all, the Executive Chef must demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities to positively influence team performance and deliver outstanding guest experiences.
At Delaware North and Patina 250, being part of the team means you’re joining a legacy of excellence and a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and personal growth. If you are an inspiring culinary leader with a passion for excellence and a drive to grow professionally within a dynamic global hospitality company, this Executive Chef opportunity is the perfect next step in your career.
