Within this dynamic enterprise, the Global Hospitality division plays a pivotal role by extending exceptional venue experiences beyond just game day or showtime occasions. The Executive Chef position at Legends Global is a crucial leadership role responsible for overseeing the culinary operations within the restaurant at one of their venues. The Executive Chef will report directly to the General Manager and is charged with planning, preparing, producing, and controlling all aspects of the culinary department. This role requires extensive experience and leadership skills to ensure food quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency meet and exceed company standards.

The Executive Chef manages all culinary production, sanitation, and stewardship across the venue, ensuring that everything from food preparation to equipment maintenance adheres to the highest standards. This role involves supervising and mentoring all culinary employees to meet budgetary goals and customer service expectations. Recipe creation and menu development are key components, alongside managing staff hiring, scheduling, training, and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Effective resource management—including time, labor, and materials—is essential for maximizing productivity and controlling costs such as food and labor expenses. The Executive Chef coordinates with the General Manager to maintain consistent high-quality food output and kitchen productivity. The role also emphasizes cross-training team members, promoting collaboration, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Detailed quality assurance and control inspections are a routine part of maintaining standards.

The position is located on-site at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, CA, and offers a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $115,000, based on experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum seven years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume food industry
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in recipe development and kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Physical ability to perform job duties in confined spaces and a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of hot, cold food, and pastry preparation
  • Extensive skill in usage of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors
  • Basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portion sizes
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for communication and documentation
  • Ability to perform duties in confined spaces
  • Minimum seven years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume food industry
  • Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Experience in high volume banquet and fine dining settings
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills
  • Experience with P&L and budgeting processes
  • Proven track record in improving kitchen efficiency, quality, and controlling food and labor costs
  • Experience with menu development
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Manage and oversee all production, operation, and sanitation aspects of culinary and stewarding operations throughout the property
  • Oversee culinary employees to achieve budgetary, food quality, and customer service expectations
  • Create and develop recipes, dishes, and other culinary requirements of the property
  • Manage hiring, scheduling, training, mentoring, and disciplinary action for all culinary employees
  • Make effective use of available resources including time, labor, and materials to maximize productivity
  • Assist in ensuring schedules are complete based on forecasts
  • Conduct regular quality assurance and quality control inspections to maintain cleanliness and equipment functionality
  • Maintain food, labor, and other expenses within budgeted levels
  • Communicate and work closely with the General Manager
  • Maintain high levels of food quality, kitchen productivity, and supply line
  • Ensure team members clean their areas during and after duties and assist others
  • Cross-train staff while encouraging and supporting team members
  • Demonstrate competent product knowledge involving proper storage, handling, and maintenance of perishables
  • Perform other duties as assigned
