Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of kitchen management experience
  • Current Food Handler's card
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work variable event-driven schedule including nights and weekends
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain safe and sanitary kitchen environments
  • Capacity to manage food cost controls and inventory
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years kitchen management experience in full-service restaurant or events venue
  • Proven ability to meet projected food costs
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit as required
  • Experience with employee scheduling in hospitality
  • Certification in nationally recognized sanitation program
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation methods
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate staff
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Self-directed and team-oriented
  • Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • Manage culinary team including hiring, firing, and disciplining staff
  • Coach and mentor culinary and event staff promoting a positive work environment
  • Control food costs through inventory, portion, and waste management
  • Schedule kitchen staff and monitor labor costs
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation of food products
  • Develop menus and oversee food preparation processes
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
