Job Description
Proof of the Pudding is a renowned catering company based in Atlanta, Georgia, with over four decades of experience delivering innovative menus, exceptional services, design expertise, and memorable event experiences. Proudly serving more than 50 venues throughout Atlanta and the surrounding areas, Proof of the Pudding has established itself as a preferred caterer for a wide range of events including weddings, corporate retreats, holiday parties, and social gatherings. Their off-premise catering division continues to drive event innovation and culinary creativity, reflecting a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction that has earned them a solid reputation in the hospitality industry.
The role of Executive Chef at Proof of the Pudding is a key leadership position within the off-premise culinary division. This role is based at the company's Atlanta Headquarters located in West Midtown and may require supporting Metro Atlanta venues as necessary. The Executive Chef will hold responsibility for managing over four million dollars in revenue and event services, reflecting the scale and significance of their operations. This position involves the development and execution of custom, innovative menus that align with the company’s high standards and the evolving food and beverage trends within the catering industry.
In addition to culinary expertise, the Executive Chef will provide leadership and development opportunities to the culinary team, ensuring a positive and productive working environment. Duties include overseeing kitchen operations, managing inventory, sourcing supplies, and maintaining health and safety standards. The Executive Chef will also collaborate closely with the sales team to establish competitive menu pricing and will directly oversee event execution to guarantee the highest levels of food quality and presentation. This includes coordinating food preparation, distribution, and hands-on on-site management during events.
Successful candidates will be innovative chefs with off-premise catering experience and strong leadership skills. They should exhibit creativity, integrity, and a passion for pushing boundaries in culinary event experiences. The Executive Chef will also play an integral role in team morale and development by participating in hiring, training, scheduling, and fostering effective communication across departments through weekly meetings. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to influence and lead a premier catering team in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environment while contributing to the company’s continued growth and success.
Proof of the Pudding values a work culture built on business acumen, dedication, ethics, safety, teamwork, communication, initiative, adaptability, and service orientation. The physical work environment involves both office and venue-based duties, requiring flexibility to work indoors, outdoors, and in temporary event structures. Physical demands include periods of sitting, standing, moving around kitchens and venues, as well as lifting up to approximately 30 pounds.
Competitive compensation is provided, including a performance bonus — further underscoring the company’s commitment to rewarding excellence in leadership and culinary innovation. Full-time eligible employees enjoy comprehensive benefits including Basic Life and AD&D, long-term disability coverage at no cost, and access to optional medical, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance plans. Employees also receive additional perks such as a cell phone allowance and auto reimbursement. Proof of the Pudding emphasizes inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring a diverse workforce where all applicants receive fair consideration.
