Proof of the Pudding is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Chef to lead its off-premise culinary division. This leadership role is crucial to managing all aspects of culinary development and execution for events spanning from intimate social gatherings to high-volume corporate events and weddings. The Executive Chef will be entrusted with overseeing a significant revenue stream exceeding 4 million dollars, ensuring that all culinary operations align with the company’s standards and client expectations.

This role requires a leader with strong expertise in off-premise or high-volume catering environments who is creative, innovative, and able to develop unique, custom menus. The Executive Chef will work closely with the Sales Team to coordinate menu pricing, stay updated on current industry trends, and maintain kitchen operations that comply with health codes and Proof of the Pudding’s quality standards. In addition to menu development and kitchen oversight, the Executive Chef will oversee event logistics, manage inventories, and participate in on-site execution as needed. The role also involves hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating culinary team members to maintain high morale and performance.

Located at the company's Atlanta headquarters in West Midtown, the Executive Chef will also support catering events occurring at numerous Metro Atlanta venues. This position melds both office work involving strategic planning and team coordination with active, hands-on event management, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment. Job Requirements

  • 4+ years in a senior leadership high volume culinary role
  • Experience in off-premise catering preferred
  • Expert knowledge of a range of cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Impeccable integrity for the business, community, and team

  • Interpersonal skills and demeanor for maintaining safe, equitable, and inclusive work environment

Job Qualifications

  • 4+ years in a senior leadership high volume culinary role
  • Experience in off-premise catering preferred
  • Expert knowledge of a range of cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Proven experience building and maintaining positive relationships with clients
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Proven time management and delegation abilities
  • Capable of producing a consistent product in high volume for multiple service times per day

Job Duties

  • Developing, costing, and executing unique and innovative custom menus
  • Collaborating with the sales team to set menu prices
  • Staying current on developing trends in the food and beverage/catering industry
  • Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet company standards and health code regulations
  • Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors
  • Execution of events and food service while maintaining the highest level of food quality and presentation
  • Capable of producing a consistent product in a high-volume environment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of creative menu items that adhere to company standards
  • Creating and maintaining the overall morale of the kitchen and culinary team
  • Assist with the hiring and training of culinary team members
  • Scheduling staff and food production in accordance with the demands of business
  • Lead weekly BEO meetings to ensure effective communication across all departments
  • Oversee and coordinate client tastings, staff lunch, on-site mixers, and other events as needed
  • Manage and oversee coinciding events including coordinating food prep, distribution, and on-site execution
  • Continuous updating and innovating of menus including holiday, wedding, social, and corporate event menus
