Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton, located at 2300 PGA Blvd in West Palm Beach, Florida, is a prestigious luxury hotel renowned for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. As a world leader in luxury hospitality, The Ritz-Carlton operates with a commitment to excellence, a rich culture, and a dedication to superior customer service. Part of a global portfolio under Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton is celebrated for its Gold Standards – a set of guiding principles that ensure guest satisfaction, foster associate growth, and maintain the highest quality standards in the hospitality industry. This property offers an atmosphere where employees are empowered to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate, continuously raising the bar for service and guest care.
The role available at this distinguished hotel is a full-time management position reporting directly to overseeing the kitchen, front of house of the restaurant, and the beverage program for both the restaurant and pool areas. The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $115,000 annually, and the position is bonus eligible. The role demands a leadership mindset with an operational focus in food and beverage management alongside culinary excellence.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations. This involves exhibiting culinary skills by personally engaging in food preparation tasks while leading the kitchen staff and managing all food-related functions. A key responsibility includes continuously improving guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of all areas under their responsibility. This position supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is always delivered, reflecting the Ritz-Carlton's commitment to culinary excellence.
The role also requires oversight of all food preparation and support areas including banquets, room service, restaurants, bars/lounges, and the employee cafeteria. Managing staff development is a critical part of this role; the individual will guide and mentor their direct reports to maintain high standards. Ensuring sanitation and food safety standards are achieved and maintained is another vital responsibility.
Core duties of this management role extend to leading the kitchen management team, providing clear direction for daily operations, setting and maintaining performance standards, and fostering an environment of open communication and collaboration among all team members. The candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities by acting as a role model, encouraging mutual trust and respect, and maintaining consistently fair administration of property policies.
In addition to team and operational management, the candidate will set and achieve goals related to culinary functions, including purchasing, receiving processes, budgeting, and safety compliance. This role demands a sharp understanding of food quality, presentation, handling, and sanitation standards alongside menu development and readiness to undertake culinary duties as needed.
Customer service excellence is paramount at The Ritz-Carlton. The successful candidate will champion service behaviors that exceed guest expectations, coach and mentor employees on guest interaction, and handle complaints effectively to maintain the brand's prestigious reputation. Responsibilities also include analyzing guest feedback and employee satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.
Human resource activities, including coaching, mentoring, performance appraisals, training, and disciplinary procedures, form an integral part of the role. The candidate will ensure equitable treatment of all employees, uphold organizational standards, and contribute to a positive work environment consistent with the Ritz-Carlton's values.
Being part of The Ritz-Carlton means joining a team that values diversity, creativity, and personal growth. Employees at this hotel have the opportunity to work within a globally recognized luxury brand that prioritizes empowering its workforce to be their best selves. This position offers the chance to be involved in an elite hospitality operation where every day is an opportunity to create life-long memories for guests and colleagues alike.
