My Neighbor Felix Mexican Kitchen + Bar is a vibrant culinary establishment located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a unique pan-Mexican kitchen and bar, it draws inspiration from all seven regions of Mexico to craft bold flavors and deliver a hospitality-driven experience to its guests. We are actively seeking a dedicated and talented Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at our Colorado Springs location. This is a full-time, on-site role that offers an annual salary range of $68,000 to $82,000, dependent on experience, with additional bonus potential. The Executive Chef position is a key leadership role focused on maintaining the high standards of food quality and operational excellence that define the My Neighbor Felix brand. This is a hands-on position that requires active involvement in day-to-day kitchen operations, menu creativity, team leadership, and financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the culinary vision while fostering a culture of professionalism, growth, and accountability among the back-of-house (BOH) team.
As Executive Chef, you will play a central role in menu development and execution, working closely with corporate culinary leadership to incorporate seasonal changes and innovative dishes that resonate with customers while balancing operational efficiency and cost control. Your leadership will extend to recruiting, training, and mentoring kitchen staff to build a high-performing team equipped to deliver consistent quality and superior guest experiences.
Financial acumen is crucial as you will oversee food and labor cost management, inventory control, purchasing decisions, and vendor relationships. You will implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize kitchen operations to ensure sustained profitability. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Collaboration with front-of-house (FOH) leadership is vital to align culinary operations with overall restaurant goals and enhance guest satisfaction. Participation in leadership meetings will allow you to contribute strategically to the broader business objectives. Staying abreast of current culinary trends while preserving the brand's integrity will ensure the menu remains both innovative and true to the My Neighbor Felix concept.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of culinary management experience
- At least 3 years in an Executive Chef or similar leadership role
- Experience in high-volume full-service restaurant
- Culinary degree preferred but not required
- Bilingual Spanish English preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Financial management experience
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of culinary management experience with at least 3 years in an Executive Chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume full-service restaurant
- Strong understanding of kitchen financials including food cost labor management and budgeting
- Experience leading training and developing large BOH teams
- Culinary degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience
- Bilingual Spanish English preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Lead execution of all menus ensuring consistency quality and adherence to brand standards
- Collaborate with corporate culinary leadership on seasonal updates features and menu evolution
- Drive creativity through specials while maintaining operational efficiency and cost targets
- Recruit hire train and develop all BOH team members
- Create a culture of accountability growth and professionalism within the kitchen
- Provide ongoing coaching performance feedback and leadership development for sous chefs and key team members
- Own and manage food cost labor cost and overall kitchen P and L performance
- Oversee purchasing inventory and vendor relationships to ensure optimal product quality and cost efficiency
- Implement systems to reduce waste improve efficiency and maintain profitability
- Ensure all food is executed to company standards for quality presentation and consistency
- Maintain strict adherence to sanitation food safety and health department regulations
- Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and facilities
- Partner with General Manager and FOH leadership to align operations and enhance the guest experience
- Support banquet catering and special event execution as needed
- Actively participate in leadership meetings and contribute to overall business strategy
- Stay current with culinary trends and techniques while maintaining the integrity of the My Neighbor Felix concept
- Ensure every dish meets quality expectations and contributes to a best-in-class guest experience
- Address guest feedback related to food and continuously improve systems and execution
