The Executive Chef role at Ascent Hospitality is a leadership position central to the overall food and beverage operations within the hotel. Job Requirements

  • 4+ years kitchen experience in high volume restaurant or hotel restaurant operation with at least one sous chef position
  • must have excellent customer service skills
  • must obtain food Handler’s Certificate within 30 days of hire
  • must obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days if not certified
  • must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • must be able to lead and motivate a team

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervise the preparation and presentation of all food items ensuring all items meet Ascent Hospitality standards of excellence
  • manage and motivate culinary staff including hiring scheduling training development coaching counseling conducting performance and salary reviews resolving problems providing open communication recommending discipline and termination in coordination with Food and Beverage Director
  • maintain sanitation standards in accordance with brand standards and federal state and local regulations
  • ensure that all kitchen equipment is well maintained and functional
  • control food costs through inventory controls purchasing pricing portioning and waste limitation
  • monitor inventory ensuring proper stock rotation to avoid spoilage and manage reusable items
  • schedule kitchen employees according to staffing guidelines and weekly forecasts
  • practice safety standards and report unsafe conditions appropriately
  • review financial transactions and monitor budget ensuring efficient operations and expenditures within budget in coordination with Property Food and Beverage Director and Hotel General Manager
