Job Description
Brinker International is a leading name in the casual dining restaurant industry, operating over 1,600 restaurants worldwide across 31 countries and two territories. Founded in 1983, the company has grown to employ more than 10,000 team members who serve over one million guests daily across popular brands such as Chili’s and Maggiano’s Little Italy. Known for its commitment to integrity, teamwork, and delivering exceptional dining experiences, Brinker International fosters a diverse and inclusive culture where team members’ ideas, backgrounds, and perspectives are valued and drive continued growth and innovation within the hospitality sector.
Maggiano’s Little Italy, a flagship brand under Brinker International, embodies the spirit and tradition of 1940s Little Italy dinner houses with a focus on Italian-American cuisine made from scratch. Their approach to dining is one of approachable elegance—offering an upscale yet warm and family-style environment that has become a destination for life’s meaningful celebrations and daily memorable moments alike. The brand prides itself on blending timeless recipes with high-quality ingredients and genuine hospitality, creating a setting that is both welcoming and refined.
The Executive Chef role at Maggiano’s Little Italy is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all culinary operations of the restaurant. This full-time position demands a passionate and skilled culinary expert dedicated to upholding the brand’s high standards in food quality, kitchen performance, and team development. As the culinary leader, the Executive Chef drives the execution of Maggiano’s celebrated recipes with consistency and precision, ensuring every dish served meets stringent quality benchmarks in taste, presentation, and safety.
In this highly dynamic role, the Executive Chef manages all back-of-house operations, from recipe adherence and food cost management to inventory control and maintaining sanitation and health regulations. They recruit, train, mentor, and develop a talented team of sous chefs, line cooks, and prep cooks, creating a positive, respectful kitchen culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement. The Executive Chef collaborates closely with the General Manager to optimize restaurant performance, balancing culinary creativity with operational efficiency.
Ideal candidates bring at least five years of experience as a chef in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, along with mastery of Italian-American culinary techniques and classic food preparations. The role requires strong leadership skills and financial acumen to control food costs, manage ordering and inventory, and minimize waste. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential to meet business demands and ensure consistent delivery of outstanding guest experiences.
Working at Maggiano’s Little Italy under Brinker International offers a competitive compensation package with performance-based bonuses. Team members also enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits; a 401(k) plan with company match; company-paid life insurance and disability coverage; and access to career advancement opportunities within Brinker’s extensive portfolio of brands. Additional perks include educational support through the Best You EDU tuition assistance program, employee dining discounts, PerkSpot discount access, and wellbeing resources via the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
This role is ideal for an executive chef who thrives in an energized kitchen environment and is passionate about culinary excellence, team leadership, and fostering a culture where guests and employees alike feel special. Joining Maggiano’s means becoming part of a legacy of quality and warmth where your culinary craftsmanship not only feeds but also creates experiences that guests cherish for a lifetime.
