Morrison Healthcare is a prominent leader in the healthcare food and nutrition services industry, operating as part of Compass Healthcare. With over 70 years of experience, Morrison Healthcare serves more than 1,000 hospitals and healthcare systems across the United States. The company employs over 31,000 associates nationwide and is dedicated to transforming the healthcare dining experience by utilizing the Power of Food. The company’s approach integrates culinary, nutritional, and operational expertise to create personalized dining experiences for patients and visitors in their cafes. This holistic approach not only advances the healing and wellness missions of its healthcare clients but also elevates the overall quality of food service provided within the healthcare sector. Morrison Healthcare’s commitment to excellence has earned it recognition as one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work since 2012, and it has received accolades from Training Magazine as a Top 125/APEX Award Training Organization. The company boasts a professional team with more than 1,600 registered dietitians and 1,200 executive chefs who collectively serve over 600 million meals annually, demonstrating both scope and expertise in healthcare food services.
The role available at Morrison Healthcare involves overseeing kitchen operations within a healthcare environment. This position demands someone who can direct the preparation of meals in line with corporate programs and established guidelines. The role focuses on managing kitchen staff and ensuring that food safety, sanitation, and quality standards are rigorously maintained. The individual will be responsible for planning menus—both regular and modified—to meet client needs and ensure compliance with healthcare nutrition standards. A significant part of the role includes training kitchen personnel in proper food preparation techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position requires managing inventory effectively to maintain supplies of food and non-food items within budget guidelines, all while ensuring product availability. Compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations is a critical responsibility, alongside maintaining cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment and work areas to uphold hygiene standards. The role also involves performing additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the foodservice environment. This is a full-time position and the company offers an Employee Referral Bonus for qualified candidates.
