The Executive Chef at Danbury Huber Heights will be responsible for overseeing the entire Dining Services operation, ensuring the provision of delicious and nutritious meals tailored to meet the dietary needs of senior residents. This pivotal leadership position requires a balance of culinary artistry, operational management, and team supervision. The Executive Chef will plan menus—including special diets prescribed by physicians—manage food presentation with creative and decorative displays, and enforce the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Additionally, the chef will ensure that the dining department operates efficiently, maintaining clean and safe kitchen environments, and coordinating seamlessly with other community departments to deliver exceptional service. Administrative duties include preparing reports, staff evaluations, and compliance documentation, contributing to the overall strategy and success of the community's culinary services. The successful candidate will bring at least five years of supervisory experience in dietary or dining services within hospitals, senior living facilities, or restaurants, coupled with a culinary degree from an accredited institution and certifications such as ServSafe. Job Requirements
- Must be ServSafe certified
- Extensive experience providing fine dining in a variety of venues
- Culinary degree from an accredited institution
- Five years dietary or dining service experience in supervisory capacity in a restaurant, hospital, health care or senior living facility
- Training or education in cost control, food management, or diet therapy for healthcare residents
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree from an accredited institution
- ServSafe certification
- Five years of dietary or dining service experience in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in restaurant, hospital, health care or senior living facility dining services
- Training or education in cost control, food management or diet therapy for healthcare residents
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to plan and develop menus including special diets
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, develop, inspire and direct the overall operation of Dining Services
- Ensure the department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
- Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physician
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and submit as required
- Coordinate dining services with other departments as necessary
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all community staff to assure that dining service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents
- Ensure that department staff, residents, visitors, etc., follow established policies and procedures at all times
- Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible department staff
- Establish dining service production lines to assure that meals are prepared on time
