Job Description
Liberty Senior Living is a distinguished senior care facility dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality living experiences for seniors, focusing on their independence, choice, and overall wellbeing. Known for its commitment to exceptional service and care, Liberty Senior Living offers a variety of programs and services tailored to meet the unique needs of its residents. The organization values a customer-focused approach and fosters a positive, collaborative work environment for its staff. As it continues to grow and enhance its services, Liberty Senior Living is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join their team and contribute to the culinary excellence of the community.
The Executive Chef position at Liberty Senior Living plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of multiple dining venues within the facility. This role is responsible for creating and producing a la carte, restaurant, catering, and cycle menus that emphasize quality, consistency, and presentation. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of food preparation and service, ensuring adherence to established policies, safety standards, and budgetary guidelines. A key responsibility is training and coaching kitchen staff to achieve their best performance, fostering a team-oriented environment, and maintaining high standards in food handling, plating, and portion control.
In addition to operational management, the Executive Chef actively engages with residents and customers to solicit feedback and incorporate their preferences into meal planning and service improvements. The role requires someone with strong organizational skills and knowledge of food service regulations, inventory control, and cost management. The Executive Chef will participate in Food Committee and Resident Council meetings, contributing insights to enhance the dining experience and support residents’ health and satisfaction.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring the culinary expertise to manage a dynamic kitchen environment effectively, demonstrating technical competency in food safety and culinary practices. The Executive Chef will lead ordering, receiving, and inventory efforts, ensuring resource stewardship while aligning with the corporate purchasing agreements. Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to provide culinary classes to residents, employees, and the public, presenting a valuable educational component that benefits the entire community.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Dependability and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends. The role requires a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in food service, preferably within country clubs, hotels, or healthcare operations. Certification in food safety and sanitation (Serve Safe certification or equivalent) is mandatory, with culinary school or hospitality management education considered a strong plus.
Employment at Liberty Senior Living means joining a compassionate and driven team committed to excellence in senior care. Prospective candidates will find this position both challenging and rewarding, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the quality of life for seniors through exceptional dining experiences. Liberty Senior Living is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a drug-free workplace with thorough background checks to ensure a safe and trustworthy environment for residents and staff alike.
