The Executive Chef role at Aramark is a crucial management position responsible for overseeing chef managers and hourly culinary staff. This role demands a dynamic individual who can develop and execute culinary solutions tailored to meet diverse customer needs and tastes. The position involves managing teams effectively, which includes training and coaching chef managers and kitchen staff to use best practices in food production, creating a shared understanding of organizational goals, and fostering a positive and productive work environment through employee recognition and rewards. The Executive Chef also facilitates team communication by planning and leading meetings and daily huddles, while maintaining detailed staff records such as training logs, shift checklists, and performance data.

A significant portion of the role involves client and guest interaction, building strong relationships to ensure positive experiences and responding to evolving culinary trends. The Executive Chef must manage food and labor costs efficiently, monitor performance metrics, and continuously seek margin improvement. Adherence to Aramark's standard menus, recipes, and food quality standards is mandatory, as is compliance with food safety and occupational health policies. The Executive Chef must have a deep understanding of the supply chain and procurement processes, ensuring all ingredients come from authorized suppliers and estimating food consumption accurately for requisitions and purchases.
