Job Description
Sodexo Corporate Services is a global leader in providing integrated food services and facilities management solutions, dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people they serve. With a strong commitment to sustainability, diversity, and innovation, Sodexo supports a broad range of clients, including corporate offices, healthcare institutions, educational facilities, and more. Their mission is to create a better everyday experience and build a better life for all by delivering exceptional culinary and operational services tailored to the unique needs of each client.
The Executive Chef 3 - Corporate Culinary Leadership position at Sodexo is based at the prestigious Mass General Brigham Headquarters in Somerville, MA. This role is ideal for an innovative and hands-on culinary professional who is passionate about fresh, modern corporate dining. The executive chef will lead the culinary vision in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that values quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction.
The culinary program at Mass General Brigham Headquarters features a bustling café with four distinct stations including Grill, Deli, an Action Station available three days a week, and a Market Bar/Salad Bar. Additionally, the café offers a Coffee Bar and a Micro Market positioned just outside the main dining area. Beyond daily café service, the culinary team supports pantries, conference services, and a growing catering program. Hours of service are strategically set to accommodate the corporate clientele, with the café operating from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Coffee Bar open until 3:00 p.m. The schedule offers a healthy work-life balance with weekday shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., some evening shifts, no regular weekends, and only rare weekend work.
As the Executive Chef 3, you will be the driving force behind all culinary operations across multiple service lines including café service, catering, and specialty programs. Your responsibilities will center on leading and inspiring a team of 8 hourly culinary professionals, developing innovative and seasonal menus that resonate with a sophisticated corporate audience, and maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence through quality, presentation, freshness, and flavor. You will manage ordering, inventory, cost control, and production schedules, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
This role is designed for a chef who thrives being hands-on, dedicating approximately 80% of their time in the kitchen guiding staff and supporting service needs. Apart from the operational duties, you will collaborate closely with management on operational planning, driving efficiencies, and aligning with client expectations. Sodexo values creativity, leadership, and operational expertise, making this an excellent opportunity for a chef eager to make a significant impact within an innovative corporate culinary environment.
The compensation package reflects fair and equitable pay based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training. Sodexo also provides a comprehensive benefits package and fosters career growth opportunities including tuition reimbursement, helping employees to advance professionally while enjoying a supportive work culture. This role stands out for its potential to influence a vibrant, evolving dining experience that prioritizes teamwork, quality, and client satisfaction.
Sodexo is committed to diversity and inclusion, offering an environment where employees are respected, valued, and encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work. Equal employment opportunities are provided to all qualified individuals, supporting a workplace culture where innovation and respect go hand in hand. Joining Sodexo means being part of a global organization that not only shapes culinary excellence but also contributes positively to social and environmental progress.
