Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, providing a broad range of integrated solutions that improve the daily lives of people around the world. With decades of experience in food services, facilities management, and catering, Sodexo is committed to delivering exceptional services tailored to the unique needs of its clients. The company operates across various sectors including healthcare, education, corporate, and government, and prides itself on creating a positive impact for customers, employees, and communities. Sodexo's culture emphasizes diversity, inclusion, respect, and fairness, ensuring that every employee's ideas and opinions are valued and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.
Sodexo is currently seeking an Executive Chef 3 to lead culinary operations for a substantial 600-bed, two-hospital acute care system located in Trenton and Hopewell Township, New Jersey. This is a pivotal leadership role that involves managing comprehensive food production activities across multiple service areas, including a full-service cafe, catering services, and patient meal services through the specialized "At Your Request" meal program. The Executive Chef will lead a team of 50 union and non-union hourly staff, ensuring that the culinary operations meet Sodexo's high standards while catering to the dietary needs and preferences of patients and customers alike.
The role demands a hands-on approach to menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, labor and food costing, scheduling, and staff training and supervision. The Executive Chef will collaborate closely with subordinate managers and supervisors to coordinate daily operations, ensure compliance with HACCP and regulatory standards, and contribute to creating a positive, engaging work environment. Strong leadership skills, especially in employee engagement and team development, are essential in this position. The Executive Chef must also possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, including executive-level stakeholders within the healthcare system.
This position offers a competitive salary that reflects the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training, along with a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being and professional growth. Sodexo places a heavy emphasis on creating career growth opportunities and offers tuition reimbursement programs to support continued learning. Other benefits include medical, dental, and vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with company contributions, paid time off, and company holidays.
As part of Sodexo's commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment, this role provides a welcoming atmosphere where all employees are encouraged to be themselves and contribute meaningfully to the organization. The Executive Chef 3 role at this healthcare facility offers a unique opportunity for a culinary professional who is passionate about leadership, client service excellence, and innovative menu development, to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic healthcare environment.
