Job Description
Sodexo is a leading global services provider renowned for enhancing quality of life through comprehensive food service, facilities management, and integrated solutions across various sectors including healthcare, education, corporate, and more. With a strong global presence and a commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, Sodexo is dedicated to creating better everyday experiences for the communities it serves. The company prides itself on a diverse and inclusive work environment, valuing each employee's contributions and fostering professional growth and development.
Within this reputable organization, Sodexo is seeking to hire an experienced Executive Chef 3 for the Miriam Hospital located in Providence, Rhode Island. This pivotal role is entrenched in the healthcare environment, emphasizing culinary excellence and operational discipline. The Executive Chef 3 will be responsible for leading a team consisting of 6 to 12 frontline associates and supervisors, managing all facets of culinary operations to ensure top-quality food production and presentation tailored to meet patient and guest expectations.
The role requires an individual with a strategic mindset and hands-on leadership skills to oversee daily culinary functions. The executive chef will manage hiring, training, and performance development of team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Given the healthcare setting, there will be a significant focus on compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and HACCP protocols to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
A key aspect of this position includes managing administrative functions related to inventory, purchasing, cost controls, and labor management to achieve financial and operational goals. The Executive Chef 3 will drive the growth of the catering program, a critical revenue stream for the hospital, by focusing on expanding volume and elevating service quality. Close collaboration with clinical and operations teams will be necessary to conduct effective patient rounding, thereby enhancing the patient dining experience.
Sodexo values its employees and offers fair and equitable compensation packages that factor in education, experience, and performance. The Executive Chef 3 position includes access to a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. Sodexo is not only committed to employee wellbeing but also embraces diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity to cultivate a supportive and respectful workplace.
This role is well-suited for candidates with strong operational management experience, expertise in catering operations, and proficiency in inventory and purchasing controls. Candidates with healthcare food service experience or a background in upscale restaurant executive chef roles who demonstrate solid business acumen and client-facing skills will find this position rewarding. Sodexo's mission to improve quality of life aligns with an executive chef dedicated to culinary excellence, leadership, and innovation within a healthcare setting.
