One of its prestigious locations is at Clark Atlanta University, an esteemed private Methodist historically black research university located in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1865 as Atlanta University and later consolidated with Clark College in 1988 to form Clark Atlanta University, the institution holds a vital place as the first historically black college or university (HBCU) in the Southern United States and continues to provide excellent academic opportunities and community engagement.

This role is for an Executive Chef 2 at Sodexo’s high profile account at Clark Atlanta University. The Executive Chef will take charge of a complex residential dining operation that caters to over 2,000 residential meal plan participants. This position requires managing a diverse range of just-in-time cooking formats alongside an emphasis on innovative menu planning, food safety, sanitation, purchasing, and inventory control. The Executive Chef will also play a key role in crafting customized menus while fostering educational and promotional events along with student engagement initiatives. Occasionally, the role involves support of catering operations, further adding to the variety and vibrancy of the position.

As an Executive Chef 2 with Sodexo at Clark Atlanta University, you will be entrusted with maintaining high culinary standards that align with Sodexo’s brand by ensuring recipe compliance, food quality, and adherence to health and safety regulations. You will conduct food cost analysis, manage inventory, participate in purchasing, and forecast food production to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. Leadership is a critical component of the position, as you will guide and motivate culinary team members to embrace culinary innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement and passion for food. Familiarity with automated inventory and production management systems will help streamline operations and improve service delivery.

Compensation for this role is competitive and tailored based on education, skills, experience, and training. Sodexo supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. Sodexo values diversity and inclusion, ensuring a workplace where everyone is respected and given equal opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and other protected categories. This commitment fosters an engaging work atmosphere conducive to professional growth and personal satisfaction.

Working at Sodexo means contributing to meaningful solutions that elevate the educational experience for students while advancing your culinary career in an innovative and supportive environment.
