Currently, Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead culinary operations within a medium-sized dining facility located in Salt Lake City, UT. This employment opportunity is a full-time role that offers competitive and equitable compensation based on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, and training. The Executive Chef 2 position is a key leadership role responsible for all culinary activities including menu planning, program execution, staff management, and delivering high-quality food service. This role requires hands-on leadership to supervise and mentor cooks and utility staff, ensuring a high-performance kitchen team that meets and exceeds Sodexo's standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the catering and retail food service operations from the initial planning stages through to successful execution, building strong client relationships, managing food costs, overseeing labor management, and ensuring operational excellence throughout. Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years management experience
  • 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants fast food vending catering services institutional services mall food courts etc

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants fast food vending catering services institutional services mall food courts etc
  • Proven culinary leadership experience in a high-volume or multi-faceted food service operation
  • Strong knowledge of food production menu development and catering services
  • Ability to train develop and motivate diverse kitchen teams
  • Solid financial acumen including food cost control and labor management
  • Commitment to food safety sanitation and workplace safety standards
  • Excellent client service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for delivering quality food and exceptional service

Job Duties

  • Lead and coordinate all culinary functions including menu planning and program execution
  • Direct train and mentor cooks and utility staff to support a high-performing kitchen team
  • Ensure food preparation and production consistently meet Sodexo’s quality safety and operational standards
  • Manage catering and retail food service operations from planning to execution
  • Build strong relationships with customers and clients to drive satisfaction and repeat business
  • Manage financial performance including food cost control and labor management
  • Oversee and enforce food safety sanitation and physical safety programs
