The role of Executive Sous Chef at GEC is integral to sustaining and advancing the company’s culinary vision. This position supports a chef-driven corporate dining program designed for a fast-paced, collaborative tech company culture with high expectations for food quality and service excellence. As Executive Sous Chef, you will oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure consistent, high-quality production across all culinary stations. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to develop seasonal, scratch-made menus inspired by local flavors and culinary innovation which are perfectly aligned with the demands of a tech campus environment.

Beyond daily kitchen leadership, this role extends to elevating the overall dining experience by championing elevated presentation standards and applying a hospitality-first mindset. Additionally, the Executive Sous Chef contributes to catering and high-profile events, assisting in planning and executing VIP functions and executive dining experiences that showcase culinary expertise and creativity. Leadership and staff development are key, with responsibilities including cultivating a skilled culinary team through mentoring, coaching, and ongoing training.

Operational management forms another critical aspect of the position. In partnership with the Executive Chef, the Executive Sous Chef manages kitchen systems related to ordering, inventory, forecasting, and adherence to food safety compliance, following Sodexo and GEC operational standards. Job Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement - associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum management experience - 2 years
  • Minimum functional experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants fast food vending catering services institutional services mall food courts

Job Duties

  • Lead culinary operations overseeing day-to-day kitchen production ensuring consistency quality and smooth service across all stations
  • Develop seasonal menus supporting executive chef in crafting scratch-made seasonal and locally inspired menus aligned with GEC standards
  • Elevate tech-campus dining delivering an elevated culinary experience tailored to a fast-paced innovation-driven tech company environment
  • Support catering and events assisting with planning and executing VIP functions executive dining and high-end corporate events
  • Train and develop staff mentoring coaching and elevating the culinary team to maintain excellence in technique service and presentation
  • Manage kitchen systems partnering with executive chef on ordering inventory forecasting and adherence to Sodexo and GEC operational standards
