Currently, Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef for its culinary operations at Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center located in Montclair, New Jersey. This role is strategically significant as it directly impacts the quality and delivery of food services to patients, staff, and visitors while driving business success within a healthcare setting. The Executive Chef will be responsible for managing all culinary operations, including catering, purchasing, menu compliance, inventory management, and food cost analysis. A key focus will be placed on ensuring Sodexo's culinary standards are met, which includes strict adherence to recipe compliance and high food quality.
This executive leadership role requires an individual who excels in motivating and developing team members to embrace culinary innovations and deliver exceptional food experiences. The Executive Chef must also uphold rigorous food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards to maintain an optimal operational environment. The position demands strong knowledge and practical experience in automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems to ensure efficient and cost-effective culinary operations. The Executive Chef will work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to enhance patient satisfaction, optimize inventory control, and contribute to the overall business objectives.

The candidate should have at least two years of functional experience working in various food service environments, such as restaurants, fast food, catering, institutional services, or food courts. Strong coaching and employee development abilities are crucial for fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
