Sodexo is a global leader in food services and facilities management, dedicated to enhancing quality of life and delivering exceptional service experiences across various industries. With a strong commitment to sustainability and community impact, Sodexo partners with diverse clients to provide tailored solutions that improve everyday life for customers and employees alike. The company emphasizes inclusion, respect, and fairness, fostering a workplace culture where every employee can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

The Executive Sous Chef position is available within Sodexo's Good Eating Company (GEC) based in Durham, NC. GEC is renowned for its chef-driven corporate dining programs, working primarily with fast-paced, innovation-focused tech companies. The role supports a modern culinary environment that prioritizes scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, and creative menu development, perfectly aligning with the high expectations and collaborative nature of tech campuses. This role is a full-time management position, offering a competitive salary that reflects the candidate's education, experience, and relevant skills.

As the Executive Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in leading culinary operations, ensuring consistent quality and smooth service across all kitchen stations every day. Supporting the Executive Chef, you will help develop seasonal menus inspired by local ingredients, maintaining GEC's standards of excellence in culinary innovation and presentation. You will also help elevate the dining experience tailored specifically to a vibrant tech-campus atmosphere, which values speed, creativity, and superior hospitality.

The role involves supporting catering and event functions, including VIP events, executive dining, and high-end corporate gatherings, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences. You will be expected to mentor, train, and develop the culinary team, fostering their growth and maintaining high standards in cooking techniques, service, and plate presentation. Managing kitchen systems such as ordering, inventory control, forecasting, and compliance with Sodexo and GEC operational standards is also a key responsibility.

Candidates for this position should bring strong culinary expertise, particularly in scratch cooking and seasonal ingredient utilization, along with the ability to lead and inspire kitchen staff within a competitive and creative tech environment. Operational strengths including experience in ordering, inventory management, forecasting, and food safety compliance are necessary to excel in this role. Experience supporting catering, VIP dining, or multi-station service models will be highly valued. A guest-focused approach, consistent with GEC's hospitality-first philosophy, is essential to deliver the high-quality dining experience expected by tech clients.

Sodexo values diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every employee’s ideas and opinions are heard while promoting a respectful and supportive workplace environment.
