Job Description
Sodexo Corporate Services is a globally recognized leader in food services and facilities management, known for enhancing quality of life and delivering exceptional experiences to clients worldwide. With a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainability, Sodexo partners with organizations to provide integrated solutions that span food service, catering, and facility management. The company fosters an environment where employees are valued, respected, and empowered to bring their ideas and creativity to work. Sodexo operates across various sectors including corporate dining, healthcare, education, and government services, making it one of the most trusted and innovative service providers worldwide.
Located in the heart of Washington, DC, the Fannie Mae Midtown Center is a premier, high-profile corporate account serviced by Sodexo Corporate Services. This dynamic culinary operation features a blend of retail foodservice including a main café, Starbucks outlet, a pizza, soup, and convenience store café, as well as high-end catering services focused on executive-level clients and VIP events. The environment is diverse and fast-paced, offering a perfect balance of retail culinary leadership and upscale catering responsibilities. The role presents an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to harness both their operational expertise and creative flair in a client-centric, prestigious setting. The position recognizes the importance of work-life balance, offering a predominantly Monday-to-Friday schedule, with occasional evening shifts and rare weekend work, making it an attractive role for those valuing personal time alongside professional growth.
The Executive Chef 2 at the Fannie Mae Midtown Center is a pivotal leader responsible for setting the culinary vision and overseeing execution across all food service operations. This senior role demands strong leadership skills to inspire and manage a team of approximately 15 hourly union employees while maintaining top-notch food quality, innovation, and presentation standards. The chef will play a crucial part in menu planning, driving creativity through seasonal offerings, and ensuring efficient control over ordering, inventory, and food and labor costs. Embracing technology such as mobile ordering systems and digital HACCP programs is essential to streamline operations and uphold safety and brand quality standards.
A significant focus of the role is on high-end catering that supports C-suite executives and the Board of Directors meetings. The Executive Chef will collaborate closely with the Catering Chef to ensure flawless execution, elevated presentation, and memorable dining experiences during executive meetings and VIP events. This responsibility requires an eye for detail, creativity, and a commitment to consistency and quality.

Sodexo provides a stable daytime schedule to promote work-life balance, offers career growth opportunities, creative freedom within a prestigious account, and a culture that values inclusivity and a positive kitchen atmosphere. This role appeals to culinary professionals passionate about food and hospitality, thriving in client-facing and high-expectation environments, and dedicated to mentoring teams while fostering a positive kitchen culture.
The compensation is competitive, ranging from $100,000 to $110,000 annually, with the salary offer being commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training. Additionally, Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and tuition reimbursement to support ongoing career development.
