Located in Macon, GA, Sodexo is currently seeking a skilled Executive Chef 2 to lead production at Piedmont Macon Medical. This role is pivotal within the healthcare food service sector, managing the culinary production for retail dining, patient and physician dining areas, as well as catering operations within a high-volume facility. Given the diversity and scale of operations, the Executive Chef 2 must be an effective leader capable of motivating and directing a multifaceted culinary team to consistently deliver outstanding food quality and service.
The position emphasizes maximizing both quality and operational efficiencies, ensuring that all culinary offerings align with Sodexo’s strict standards for safety, taste, and presentation. Responsibilities include overseeing daily food production across multiple outlets, managing production planning, operational controls, labor, and food costs. The Executive Chef 2 will be accountable for menu development and inventory management, utilizing their expertise to optimize resources and reduce waste. They will uphold culinary excellence and innovative menu designs to enhance the dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff.
This role also requires strong adherence to food safety and compliance standards such as HACCP, guaranteeing that all food handling and preparation practices meet regulatory and internal requirements. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of management experience
- Minimum two years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Prior culinary management experience in a high-volume healthcare environment
- Strong food production planning and food cost management experience
- Proficient in computer systems and software
- Full knowledge of HACCP standards
