The role of Executive Chef 2 at Sodexo is an exciting leadership opportunity based at Piedmont Macon Medical in Macon, GA. This position plays a crucial role in managing the food production operations across multiple service areas including retail, patient physician dining, and catering. The Executive Chef 2 must be adept at leading a diverse culinary team in a high-volume environment while maximizing both quality and efficiency. Reporting directly under the General Manager, the Executive Chef 2 is responsible for overseeing daily culinary operations, ensuring compliance with Sodexo's culinary standards, recipes, and strict food safety protocols such as HACCP standards.

In this leadership role, the Executive Chef 2 will guide food production strategies, manage production planning and operational controls, including labor and food cost monitoring. Menu development and inventory management are also key responsibilities, requiring creativity and organizational skills to adapt to the evolving needs of the healthcare environment. The role demands an individual with strong experience in high-volume healthcare culinary management, proficient with computer systems and software relevant to food service operations.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years of management experience
  • Minimum two years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to lead a diverse culinary team
  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior culinary management experience in a high-volume healthcare environment
  • Strong food production planning and food cost management experience
  • Proficient in computer systems and software
  • Full knowledge of HACCP standards
