The Executive Chef role at The Amberleigh is a critical position within the culinary services department, tasked with planning, preparing, and serving attractive and nutritious meals that meet the diverse dietary needs of the senior community. This role requires not only culinary expertise but also strong organizational skills, leadership, and a commitment to maintaining the highest food safety and sanitation standards. The Executive Chef assists in ordering supplies and planning menus, ensuring meals are prepared on schedule and meet quality and regulatory compliance, especially with New York State requirements for Assisted Living meals and special diets.
In addition to culinary duties, the Executive Chef helps manage and oversee the culinary team to guarantee consistency in recipe execution and meal presentation. The role involves active participation in both food preparation and serving shifts while maintaining an efficient, clean, and orderly kitchen and dining area. - Food Service Sanitation Certificate
- experience in volume meal preparation

Job Duties
- Plan, prepare, and serve attractive and nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner
- assist with ordering supplies and food for weekly menus
- assist with menu planning and preparation of monthly dining calendar
- oversee culinary team to ensure menu items are prepared according to recipes
- assist Culinary Services Director in maintaining an efficient Dining Services department
- prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts
- maintain dining service standards including meal delivery, customer service, and cleanliness
- clean work areas, pots, and equipment after preparation and service
- ensure leftovers are covered, labeled, dated, and stored properly
- comply with New York State regulations for Assisted Living meals and special diets
