Job Description

Whiskey Yard is a chef-driven restaurant concept developed by Epic Brands, a renowned company known for creating unique and elevated dining experiences. Located at 7524 Bales Street, Liberty Township, Ohio, Whiskey Yard specializes in elevated comfort food, offering scratch-made dishes crafted with creativity, passion, and precision. The restaurant prides itself on dishes that tell a story of bold flavor and thoughtful execution, all served in an energetic and welcoming atmosphere. Although the restaurant nods to its signature whiskey and cocktail offerings, the true focus lies on the culinary craftsmanship found in the kitchen. Here, innovation, craft, and hospitality combine to create unforgettable dining experiences that resonate with guests. The establishment is part of the Epic Brands family, which includes other acclaimed restaurant concepts such as Agave & Rye, Son of a Butcher Steakhouse, BITE ME Cupcakery, Cowboy Sally's, and the newly opened Tokyo Pie. Epic Brands operates as a culture-driven company built on the principles of love, community, and excellence, aiming to create epic experiences for guests, teams, and communities alike.

The Executive Chef role at Whiskey Yard is a full-time, salaried position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year, along with bonus potential. This role reports directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and includes a comprehensive benefits package. As the Executive Chef, the individual will lead all culinary operations, ensuring that the restaurant maintains consistency, creativity, and excellence in its food offerings. This position calls for a hands-on leader capable of inspiring and mentoring a dynamic culinary team while overseeing day-to-day kitchen activities from preparation to service. The Executive Chef will have a key role in managing food and labor costs to meet prime cost targets and ensuring adherence to sanitation, safety, and health standards. Additionally, the chef will collaborate with leadership to develop seasonal features and innovative new menu items that excite guests and reflect the restaurant's distinctive personality.

Further responsibilities include maintaining positive vendor relationships, managing inventory and ordering processes, and recruiting, training, and developing kitchen professionals to build a strong and capable culinary team. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine within a chef-driven or upscale casual concept. This experience should be coupled with a deep understanding of scratch cooking, flavor development, and plating aesthetics. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to success in this role. While a culinary degree is preferred, it is not mandatory for applicants who can demonstrate proven excellence in the culinary field. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed is also required. This role offers an exciting opportunity for culinary leaders to contribute their creativity and expertise in an environment where the food truly takes center stage, all while being part of a passionate and supportive company culture that fosters career growth and professional development within Epic Brands' diverse portfolio of award-winning concepts.
