Known for its healthy yet delicious menu options, Beatrix features a variety of in-house pastries and signature cookies, making it a favorite local spot for breakfast, lunch, and casual dining. As part of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, a culinary-driven restaurant company with over 130 locations, Beatrix benefits from a strong culture of care and professional growth opportunities. Lettuce Entertain You Companies is recognized for nurturing talent, embracing diversity, and delivering unique dining experiences. Their commitment to their employees is reflected in comprehensive benefits, career-long training, and a supportive work environment. This makes Beatrix an excellent place to build a culinary career in a community-centered setting.
The role of Chef de Cuisine at Beatrix is a fantastic opportunity for a culinary professional with at least 2 years of chef experience to lead the kitchen operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Chef de Cuisine will play a pivotal role in managing the entire back-of-house (BOH) operations including food preparation, cooking, inventory management, and ensuring high-quality menu delivery. This leadership position requires expertise in menu planning, food cost control, and team supervision to maintain operational excellence and uphold the restaurant's reputation for quality and service. The Chef de Cuisine will work closely with the General Manager and other management team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
Candidates for this position can expect a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 per year, along with various benefits such as quarterly bonuses, paid time off including holidays, personal days and vacation, 401(k) retirement plans, medical, dental and vision insurance, life and accident protection, restaurant discounts, and wellness programs focused on mental health. This role requires an individual who can lead with a Culture of Caring mindset, fostering teamwork, development, and positive communication throughout the kitchen and with the front-of-house teams.
In addition to leadership and operational duties, the Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for critical functions such as overseeing food orders, inventory management, compliance with health inspections, menu modifications, and continuous quality assurance through line checks. The position demands physical stamina to manage the workload, including lifting and moving supplies, and flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and potential overnight travel. The ideal candidate will bring not only culinary expertise but also strong management skills, the ability to mentor and develop staff, and a proactive approach to solving challenges related to guests, vendors, and employees.
If you are passionate about culinary excellence, enjoy leading teams, and thrive in a collaborative, customer-focused environment, this role at Beatrix offers a rewarding career path within the Lettuce Entertain You restaurant family. Joining Beatrix means becoming part of a respected brand that values quality, innovation, and the joy of sharing great food in a friendly neighborhood setting.
