Job Description

Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) is a fast-growing, family-owned company dedicated to serving seniors through its network of over 60 communities nationwide. RLC operates in the senior living industry, focusing on creating a vibrant, supportive, and luxurious residential environment for independent seniors. With a commitment to its Core Values of Respect, Honesty, Kindness & Compassion, and Service Excellence, RLC fosters a close-knit, servant-hearted community where employees are valued and residents receive outstanding care and service. The company is proud of its four essential goals guiding its success: Happy Employees, Happy Residents, Full Occupancy, and On-Budget Operations. These pillars reflect RLC's holistic approach to creating a thriving living environment where both staff and residents feel supported and fulfilled.

Within this inspiring framework, RLC is seeking a dedicated Executive Chef to join their Independent Senior Living community. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the Culinary and Dining teams in delivering fresh, scratch-made meals alongside exceptional service. The Executive Chef plays a critical role in shaping the dining experience, which is highlighted through RLC's Signature Freedom Dining program. This program is central to the resort-style, luxury dining ambiance that residents enjoy daily. The Chef's responsibilities are hands-on, involving everything from prep and cooking to planning and overseeing the meal service, while also fostering meaningful relationships with residents. This position requires a leader who is not only skilled in culinary arts but also passionate about enhancing residents' lives through food and personalized service.

As the Executive Chef, you will manage all aspects of culinary operations, ensuring meals are of the highest quality, beautifully presented, and served at the proper temperatures. You will lead your team by example, maintaining strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, while also keeping the kitchen organized and clean. Training and coaching the Culinary and Dining teams form a significant part of the role to ensure seamless and timely dining service. The Chef also handles administrative duties, including inventory management, vendor relations, ordering, and invoice processing. A key part of the job involves engaging directly with residents through feedback sessions and monthly Chef chats, customizing menus to meet their preferences and dietary needs.

The position primarily operates on a Sunday through Thursday schedule but includes additional evening, weekend, and holiday duties, offering an active and dynamic work environment. Requirements include at least 21 years of age, proven culinary leadership experience, high school diploma or GED (with preferred culinary education), proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, strong communication skills in English, and a positive, service-oriented attitude. Certifications such as ServSafe Manager and local food handler permits are necessary within specific time frames after hire.

This full-time position comes with competitive compensation and benefits, including a unique $341 benefit stipend per pay period that can be applied toward health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), limited spending accounts (LSA), accident and hospital indemnity coverage, and legal and identity theft protection. Employees also enjoy paid time off and a 401(k) plan with employer match. Joining Resort Lifestyle Communities means becoming part of a company with supportive leadership, a beautiful resort-style environment, and a meaningful purpose-driven role where your work makes a direct difference in residents' daily lives. If you are ready to lead with heart and make a lasting impact, RLC welcomes your application to join their family-oriented team.
