The role of Resort Executive Chef at Crystal Mountain is a senior culinary leadership position within the Food & Beverage Business Unit. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and leading multiple culinary teams, this position is responsible for overseeing all culinary and stewarding operations across the resort’s year-round and seasonal dining venues. The Executive Chef drives operational excellence by managing menu strategy, food quality, safety compliance, labor controls, and cost efficiencies, while fostering an environment of creativity, accountability, and continuous development among the culinary staff.
With a wage range of $95,000 to $115,000 annually plus bonus eligibility, this role offers a competitive compensation package reflecting the high level of expertise and leadership required. The Executive Chef is instrumental in ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining consistency in menu execution and food presentation, as well as supporting culinary talent through training and professional growth opportunities.

Job Requirements
- Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level to access all venues
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift, carry, or move a minimum of 20 pounds occasionally
- Manual dexterity to operate computers and common office equipment
- Visual and auditory ability to use phones, mobile devices, and computers constantly
- Ability to work extended periods sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and speaking
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Commitment to perform all essential duties satisfactorily
- Willingness to comply with safety and health standards
Job Qualifications
- Culinary arts, food production, hotel and restaurant degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of on-the-job culinary experience with at least 4 years in an executive chef role
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively
- Experience managing high-volume kitchen operations and controlling costs
- Skilled in kitchen and safety equipment usage
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel and Teams
- Knowledge of FoodTrak or similar recipe/costing software
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor and high productivity in fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with TCPHD regulations and food safety compliance
Job Duties
- Ensure great guest service through consistent execution of all menus and recipes
- Train and manage all culinary and stewarding personnel
- Oversee preparation and presentation of all food items in compliance with quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in all kitchen and storage areas
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Control labor costs and maintain food cost in line with budget
- Develop policies and procedures to enhance quality and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Provide professional development and training opportunities for culinary team members
- Lead culinary teams in participation of food festivals and special events
- Attend senior level resort meetings and perform other duties as directed
