The Executive Chef at Grand Living plays a crucial role in enhancing residents' lives through culinary excellence and leadership. This role demands overseeing all culinary activities across multiple dining venues, including Bistro, Casual, Formal dining areas, the Luminations memory care section, and the Club Room. The Executive Chef also manages special events and private functions, ensuring that every dish meets high standards of quality and presentation. Reporting to the Executive Director, the chef maintains alignment with the community's standards, procedures, and overall hospitality philosophy. The position requires someone who can provide exceptional oversight, culinary training to kitchen staff, and consistently deliver a refined dining experience that delights residents and their guests. Job Requirements
- college or culinary school degree
- combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from culinary school
- five or more years in food and beverage, country club, fine dining, restaurant or senior living hospitality experience
- two or more years managing culinary or dining services
- scratch cooking experience
- sauté and broiler experience preferred
- certified executive chef highly preferred
- servesafe certification preferred
- ability to read, write and understand English
- sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment
- physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods
- ability to lift or carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications

- two or more years managing culinary or dining services

Job Duties
- oversee and coordinate culinary activities for all dining venues including Bistro, Casual, Formal, Luminations memory care and Club Room
- supervise and provide culinary training to kitchen staff
- direct all menu offerings with an emphasis on quality and variety
- manage special events and private functions ensuring exceptional dining service
- maintain kitchen standards consistent with community policies and procedures
