Job Description

Restaurant Associates is a premier dining and event catering provider renowned for partnering with some of the nation's most prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporate clients. As an industry leader, Restaurant Associates is committed to delivering exceptional culinary experiences that merge innovation with excellence. Recognized as one of Glassdoor's Employee Choice Awards Best Places to Work, the company fosters an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive, backed by Compass Group USA's extensive resources and commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment.

The position of Executive Chef at The Crossvines in Poolesville, Maryland, offers a unique opportunity to lead a destination restaurant that combines a winery, event venue, and a restaurant focused on food, community, and craftsmanship. The Crossvines is celebrated for its scenic countryside location, emphasizing local sourcing as a foundational principle rather than just a trend. This role involves shaping the culinary vision and identity of The Crossvines through designing seasonal menus that reflect regional ingredients and culture. The Executive Chef will oversee building and mentoring a talented kitchen team, ensuring a supportive workplace that encourages professional growth and engagement.

Working within Restaurant Associates' culture of innovation, the Executive Chef enjoys the creative freedom of an independent concept while benefiting from the operational and organizational capabilities of a top hospitality company. Daily responsibilities encompass leading culinary operations with a focus on quality and consistency, balancing creativity with efficient management of food costs and labor, and maintaining high standards for food safety and sanitation. Collaboration with the culinary, beverage, and events teams is crucial to delivering seamless and memorable guest experiences across a diverse range of events and services.

The role demands a leader who is adaptable to the dynamic environment of destination dining and events, with experience in high-volume, hospitality-focused settings. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for seasonal and ingredient-driven cuisine and have a track record of working within farm-driven, sustainable sourcing programs. The Executive Chef will also have the chance to contribute to special events, tastings, and programming, enhancing the overall guest journey and elevating The Crossvines as a go-to culinary destination.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $125,000 plus other forms of compensation, including a bonus plan, sign-on bonus, and relocation package. Poolesville itself provides a charming, connected community with access to natural beauty and is located close to Washington, D.C., offering both lifestyle advantages and professional opportunities. This is a distinctive role for culinary professionals eager to lead, innovate, and build something meaningful within an accomplished and supportive hospitality group.
