Job Description

Located in the heart of Savannah's revitalized riverfront, The Alida is a distinguished 173-room hotel that embodies the essence of Southern hospitality blended with a modern lifestyle. Named in honor of Alida Harper Fowlkes, a notable entrepreneur celebrated for her self-made success and artisan spirit, The Alida stands as a beacon of contemporary culture within the city's rich historical backdrop. The hotel caters to guests seeking an authentic and refined experience that intertwines timeless charm with the vibrant life of Savannah. With its dedication to excellence across all facets of guest service, The Alida provides both an inviting atmosphere and a commitment to quality that is palpable throughout the property. As part of the esteemed Makeready collection, The Alida proudly offers an inclusive work environment and meaningful benefits that prioritize the health and well-being of its team members. The company upholds strong Guiding Principles that foster collaborative success and encourage every team member to thrive as their authentic self. The Alida is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion without discrimination, valuing each individual's unique qualifications and contributions.

The Executive Chef at The Alida plays a pivotal role in driving the culinary vision and operational excellence of the property's food and beverage offerings. This leadership position requires a passionate individual who appreciates the power of connection—whether through conversation or dining experiences—and who is committed to delivering exceptional quality in every dish. As the head of the culinary team, the Executive Chef leads the development and mentorship of a unified group of hospitality professionals dedicated to achieving food safety, quality, and creativity. Responsibilities include crafting innovative menus that reflect both Southern charm and contemporary trends, managing kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and high standards, and maintaining control over recipe execution and presentation. The Executive Chef works closely with the Food and Beverage General Manager to guarantee an impeccable guest experience. This role demands not only culinary expertise but also strong leadership presence, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage food and labor costs effectively. It offers an exciting opportunity to shape the dining identity of a landmark hotel that honors heritage while embracing modernity, all while working within a supportive organization that values team member growth and well-being.
