With a strong emphasis on quality and professionalism, The Quail stands as a premier destination for both leisure and business travelers seeking an unmatched stay in Carmel Valley.
We are currently seeking an Executive Chef to join our exceptional Quail Team. This is a unique opportunity to lead culinary operations at a renowned hotel with a commitment to excellence. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production across multiple outlets including restaurants, banquets, and special events. This role offers the chance to work within a robust hospitality operation that supports personal and professional growth. The successful candidate will benefit from exceptional medical benefits and employee discounts on lodge stays, golf, and dining services. With an attractive salary range of $115,000 to $125,000 annually, this position is ideal for a culinary professional passionate about creating superior dining experiences in a luxury setting.
As Executive Chef, you will have the authority and responsibility to maintain the highest professional food quality and sanitation standards throughout the hotel’s food outlets. You will design innovative menus for two distinct dining outlets, banquets, and seasonal events, ensuring that every guest enjoys a unique and unforgettable culinary experience. Managing labor budgets and staffing will be a crucial part of your role, requiring you to balance service excellence with financial objectives. You will also lead the hiring, training, and development of kitchen staff, including Sous Chefs, Cooks, and Stewards, fostering a collaborative and high-performing kitchen team.
The Quail offers a supportive environment for continuous learning and advancement within the hospitality industry. As part of the Quail Team, you will engage with a diverse group of professionals committed to delivering impeccable service and refining their skills. This role requires a dedicated chef with a passion for food and the dining experience, who is willing to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays. If you have completed culinary education or possess equivalent experience, along with a minimum of four years in restaurant kitchen operations and at least three years in an Executive Chef capacity, The Quail invites you to apply and contribute to our hotel’s culinary excellence.
