Job Description
Carmel Terrace is a distinguished faith-based, nonprofit organization located in Framingham, Massachusetts. Currently, Carmel Terrace is seeking to hire a Dietary Director / Food Service Manager / Executive Chef to oversee and elevate the dining program within the facility. This full-time role, with a salary range of $74,800 to $80,000 annually based on skills and experience, offers an excellent opportunity for professionals looking for a better work-life balance, more regular hours, and a dedicated staff environment. The position includes every other weekend work and plays a critical role in the health and well-being of the residents by managing nutrition services that comply with state and federal regulations.
The Dietary Director is responsible for the development, implementation, supervision, and continual evaluation of the dining program to promote nutritional care aimed at helping residents attain or maintain their highest practicable well-being. This includes oversight of the food service budget, purchasing, preparation, service, and storage of food. Additionally, the role involves recruiting, training, evaluating, and managing the food service team in collaboration with the human resources department to ensure optimal staffing and performance. The Dietary Director also ensures that food service equipment and facilities are maintained in a clean, compliant, and functional condition.

Job Requirements
- minimum of 2 years in food service management
- certified dietary manager (cdm) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- servsafe certification required
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- associates degree in culinary arts and management or successful completion of a reputable course in food service operation preferred
- must be able to operate standard food production equipment
- must have solid pc skills including ms office suite and other office equipment

Job Duties
- provide nutrition services according to policies and procedures and federal and state requirements
- oversee the budget and purchasing of food and supplies and the preparation service and storage of food
- recruit interview hire train coach evaluate reward discipline and terminate employees in cooperation with human resources department as needed
- develop work schedules to ensure adequate staff to cover each shift
- maintain the food service department and equipment in clean compliant and working condition
